John Morton, CFP®, CFA®

John joined Boardwalk Financial Strategies in February of 2018. With a holistic approach to financial planning and investments, John helps his clients enjoy a fuller life and peace of mind. His expertise in charitable giving enables clients to give in creative, tax-efficient ways. Prior to joining Boardwalk, John gained experience providing guidance to high net worth individuals and families as a Senior Financial Planner at Balasa Dinverno Foltz LLC, a wealth management firm.

John earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^™ certification (CFP^®) in June 2017 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder (CFA®), having passed the final exam in May 2022. John graduated from Carthage College with All-College honors, majoring in finance and earning minors in chemistry and Spanish. In college, John served as the student body President his senior year and was on both the Basketball and the Track and Field teams.

Outside of work, John enjoys gardening, outdoor adventures, sports, traveling, and reading. In the local community, John is the board president of Exploit No More, a nonprofit dedicated to sheltering and supporting sex trafficking survivors in the greater Milwaukee area. Also, he and his wife Jen have fostered over 15 dogs through Lucky Mutts Rescue since 2019.

John and Jen reside in Milwaukee with their daughter and two dogs.
